About the Role

As the Lifestyle Assistant, you will assist Diversional Therapist or Residential Manager in implementing Leisure and Lifestyle Programs. You will evaluate individual resident’s needs, collaborate with volunteers, tailor personal care plans, and evaluate the effectiveness of those plans to deliver exceptional customer service. You will contribute to the organisation's pursuit of accreditation for the Leisure and Lifestyle Program and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Analyses individual needs and interests, provides tailored support and stimulates personal growth in the areas of psychology, social interaction, emotions, spirituality, cognition, and physical well-being.
  • Collaborates with the Diversional Therapist or Residential Manager to tailor therapeutic activities to meet residents' individual needs and preferences, in consultation with the Registered Nurse or other relevant staff.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of individual plans and activities and identifies areas for improvement.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of innovative leisure and lifestyle program and ensures compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.

About You

To be successful in this role, our preferred candidate will have:

  • Diploma preferred; Lifestyle Management, Gerontology, Social Work is preferred. Any other related discipline or commensurate work experience considered.
  • Minimal experience as a Lifestyle assistant tailoring leisure and lifestyle programs in aged care services is preferred.
  • Certificate III in Leisure and Lifestyle, Diversional Therapy is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Work Health and Safety (WHS) Practices and cultural sensitivity.
  • Proficient in Legal & Regulatory Compliance, Care Planning, Person Centered Practice, Customer Needs Assessment and Program Management skills.
  • Excellent Communication, Customer Experience, Planning and Prioritisation skills.
